Car accident investigation proves inconclusive

The reasons for a car accident that claimed the live of a personal injury lawyer will never be known, investigators have concluded.

A female solicitor from Scotland died when her car drifted into the opposite carriageway of the A9 in May and collided with a school coach.

Fourteen of the children on the bus suffered minor personal injuries but the lawyer's two-seater MG was destroyed in the road accident and she died instantly.

Car crash investigators examined the scene of the smash in detail but were unable to establish why the personal injury lawyer's car had crossed into the path of oncoming traffic.

At a recent inquiry into the fatal car accident at Inverness Sheriff Court, the coroner said, "Despite the best efforts of police we will never know what caused the car to go across to the wrong side of the carriageway."
